Roots That Endure

$3,000.00

DIMENSIONS: 120 cm x 90 cm

This work comes from a deeply personal place. Although I was born in Bogotá, an essential part of my story has always lived on Colombia’s Caribbean coast. Coastal blood runs through my veins—the blood of strong, joyful, resilient, and fiercely independent women who have transformed hardship into strength and adversity into dignity.

The two figures are connected by a single flowing garment, reminding us that no woman walks alone. We are shaped by the stories we inherit, the lessons passed down by our mothers and grandmothers, and by all the women who fought so that we could stand today with freedom, confidence, and pride.

This piece is a tribute to the women of Colombia’s coast—women who are courageous, hardworking, and unwavering; women capable of carrying entire families on their shoulders without losing their warmth, their laughter, or their spirit. They find beauty in everyday life, love with intensity, and face the world with a quiet bravery that history does not always recognize, but that changes lives nonetheless.

The turquoise tones evoke the Caribbean Sea, the endless horizon, and the sense of freedom that comes from knowing exactly where you come from. Though the two women look in opposite directions, they remain connected, reflecting a universal truth: we may follow different paths, but we never leave our roots behind.

Roots That Endure is my way of honoring the women who came before me and all those who continue to write their own stories with courage, dignity, and love.

Because a woman who knows the strength of her roots can face the world without ever losing herself.
